Broke camp and then left in Henry for Invercargill - and I took the wheel - Jim was quite patient and I did OK (3rd and 4th gear easy) - drove as far as some caves outside of Clifden - took a break to explore the caves, then Jim drove from there on.
Quite scenic; finally reached Invercargill where we drove out to the Bluff and Jim put on the wetsuit and went diving for pauas - big mollusks (like abalone). We wound up going for dinner out at a "fancy" hotel/restaurant on the other side of Invercargill - only $19 each for a really nice buffet. (I flirted pleasantly with a baby at the next table who took a shine to me and smiled and made eyes at me throughout!)
After dinner we found a camping spot way out in the reaches of park reserve along a river - millions of mosquitos! It seemed an endless park - at first you drove past "club" after "club" (rowing, skiing, gun, etc.) then picnic areas.
