Wednesday was a lovely day, Thursday was PERFECT. No clouds, just blue sky. We went back into Rotorua and took a gondola ride up one of the surrounding hills to a great view spot, had a beer (or two) and then paid to ride the LUGE down! WOW! It was wild & fast & fun! It'd looked a bit intimidating, so we only bought one ride, while buying two at a time would've been cheaper. Then we took a ski lift back up the hill, and finally returned down on the gondola. It was great!

In Rotorua again we bought more beer & a bottle of Malibu (num!) and some groceries, then drove back to Blue Lake, where Jim convinced the guy at the campground to loan us his canoe! We went all around the lake, stopping a few times to sit on the beach and sip Malibu/juice drinks, and once we donned masks & snorkels and swam around! It was great!

Spent the night again at Fisherman's and visited with a woman (Harmony) and her (late teens') son who live in a VW bus with no motor which they have towed from place to place - they have quite an elaborate set-up, nice tape deck, a cat - she's an artist on welfare (was able to prove that 9-5 desk jobs make her physically sick!).
