We went back into town, called Paul again, and found out about the limit - Jim was able to get his money no problem then. I made my first collect call home to Mom - very enjoyable to talk with her and find that all's well there. We then bought more used paperbacks at a big used book store, and headed for Riverton where we eventually tracked down STAN THE POSTMAN at his hang-out, the Aparima Tavern (best in town). Visited with him for a while before heading up the Ap, where we eventually found a rest area off the river where we set up camp for the night.

In the a.m. we met Richard (from California) - went back out to the bluff with him; Jim and Richard did some snorkelling. Then the three of us eventually made our way to the Aluminum Plant for the free tour at 2:00. Interesting and entertaining - got to wear hardhats, goggles and of course got a free sample of aluminum!
We found another really nice campspot by the river, and took in a movie at 8:00 in downtown Invercargill ("Pick-up Artist - Molly Ringwald)
